Before this project, the FAMU National Alumni Association – Florida Region’s entire online presence was a single page on the national association’s website—with no dedicated space to tell its own story, promote its events, or engage alumni across the state. The region needed a standalone website that could serve as a true digital home: a place where members and supporters could stay informed about regional happenings, give financially, connect with leadership, and shop official alumni merchandise. They also wanted to showcase the energy of their gatherings through photo galleries while keeping the site easy for their team to maintain long-term.

Our Solution
We built a brand-new website on WordPress using Elementor, designed around the organization’s core engagement pathways: events, giving, leadership, and community connection. We integrated Zeffy for 100% fee-free donation processing and implemented Modern Events Calendar so the team can publish and manage regional events from one central place. To keep leadership information accurate as officers change, we used Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to power a structured, easy-to-update leadership directory. We also connected Google Drive to the site’s photo galleries—so new images appear on the website automatically when added to a shared folder—implemented a Fluent Forms contact form for inquiries, and linked the official alumni shop so supporters can purchase merchandise seamlessly.

Results
With the launch of famunaaflreg.org, the Florida Region has gone from a single page on the national website to a full digital platform of its own. Alumni across the state now have one central destination to find events, give through a fee-free donation experience, browse photo galleries, connect with leadership, and shop official merchandise. Just as importantly, the site was built for easy upkeep—events, leadership profiles, and galleries can all be updated by the team without technical expertise—positioning the region to keep its community connected, informed, and engaged for years to come.
